Sustained Investigation
How has humanity affected the world? When I was younger, my family visited Lake Louise. Only one piece of information stayed with me: Lake Louise might not exist for the next generation. I began to realize that our world will no longer be the same unless action is taken. The world started untouched by humanity. Today, the world is in the process of being destroyed. However, what happens after our world has been destroyed? I looked at three different time periods: the past, the present, and the future. In these three time periods, I wanted to examine the effects of humanity.
I experimented with blends, darkroom techniques, collages, and Adobe Photoshop techniques. In photo 2, I experimented with solarizing images and then continued by blending multiple pinhole images. Photo 6 needed many revisions. I started with solely having the burning city (background). Upon my first revision, I added the sheep and oil pastel. My photo still needed a central interest (flower), which I added on my third revision. In photo seven I took a risk on a negative that I liked by burning the negative. I used the contrast between bold and bland colors to create a sense of memory.
